Serial Transcriptome Analysis Reveals Genes Associated with Late Blight Resistance in Potato Cultivar Qingshu 9

چکیده

The late blight caused by Phytophthora infestans (P. infestans) has been a major constraint for worldwide sustainable potato production. Chinese cultivar Qingshu 9 shown excellent field performance against blight. To understand the mechanism underlying its resistance, transcriptomic dynamics of infected with P. was systematically investigated to identify resistance-related genes. In total, 2027 shared differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified when at 24, 48 and 72 h post-inoculation. Based on k-mean cluster analysis, DEGs showed four types expression patterns, suggesting their divergent functions in response infection. KEGG enrichment analysis that significantly enriched involved biosynthesis secondary metabolites, plant–pathogen interaction, photosynthesis. Furthermore, 980 transcription factor belonging 68 families found DEGs, which AP2-EREBP MYB most abundant. Moreover, many related disease resistance differential during Finally, nine validated quantitative real-time PCR. These results provide valuable information understanding 9.

Transcriptome Analysis of an Anthracnose-Resistant Tea Plant Cultivar Reveals Genes Associated with Resistance to Colletotrichum camelliae.

Tea plant breeding is a topic of great economic importance. However, disease remains a major cause of yield and quality losses. In this study, an anthracnose-resistant cultivar, ZC108, was developed. An infection assay revealed different responses to Colletotrichum sp. infection between ZC108 and its parent cultivar LJ43. ZC108 had greater resistance than LJ43 to Colletotrichum camelliae. Addit...

Late blight resistance in a diploid full-sib potato family

Late blight, caused by Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) de Bary, is the most destructive disease of potato worldwide. As this pathogen can rapidly overcome major race-specific resistance genes, identifying the basis for enhanced quantitative resistance has become a crucial element for implementing advanced breeding strategies. A population of 230 full-sib progeny derived from a cross between two ...

Late Blight Resistance of RB Transgenic Potato Lines

Late blight of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.), incited by Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) de Bary, is a devastating disease affecting tuber yield and storage. Recent work has isolated a resistance gene, RB, from the wild species Solanum bulbocastanum Dun. Earlier work in Toluca, Mexico, observed significant levels of field resistance under intense disease pressure in a somatic hybrid containing R...

Transcriptome Analysis Reveals Candidate Genes involved in Blister Blight defense in Tea (Camellia sinensis (L) Kuntze)

To unravel the molecular mechanism of defense against blister blight (BB) disease caused by an obligate biotrophic fungus, Exobasidium vexans, transcriptome of BB interaction with resistance and susceptible tea genotypes was analysed through RNA-seq using Illumina GAIIx at four different stages during ~20-day disease cycle. Approximately 69 million high quality reads were assembled de novo, yie...

Transcriptome Sequencing Reveals Key Pathways and Genes Associated with Cisplatin Resistance in Lung Adenocarcinoma A549 Cells

Acquired resistance to cisplatin-based chemotherapy frequently occurs in patients with non-small cell lung cancer, and the underlying molecular mechanisms are not well understood. The aim of this study was to investigate whether a distinct gene expression pattern is associated with acquired resistance to cisplatin in human lung adenocarcinoma. Whole-transcriptome sequencing was performed to com...
